School of Medicine Guides
The School of Medicine’s key guidance resources for course directors, administrators, faculty, and evaluators now have a new home. The Office of Medical Education has transitioned the Course Directors Guide, Course Administrators Guides, Curriculum Committee Guide, and Curriculum Evaluation Guide from the School of Medicine website to SharePoint.
These guides bring together important information about the School of Medicine and its mission, the design and administration of the preclinical and clinical curricula, accreditation, and the processes we use to ensure the quality and integrity of our program. They also provide links to policies and procedures relevant to curriculum and course management, as well as student progression.
Anyone logged in with UMMC credentials is able to view the site.
The move to SharePoint gives us a more flexible and sustainable way to maintain these resources. In the past, updates were handled through an annual review cycle. With SharePoint, we can easily revise content on an as-needed basis as processes change, guidance is clarified, or links and supporting materials need to be updated.
We hope this will make the guides more useful, more current, and easier for faculty and staff to rely on throughout the year. Rather than serving as static annual documents, they can now function as living resources that better reflect the day-to-day work of curriculum leadership, administration, evaluation, and oversight.
Because updates may occur throughout the year, we encourage faculty, course leaders, administrators, and committee members to check the site regularly and use it as the current source for guidance and reference materials.
